CATTS

Collaboration to Advance Teaching, Technology and Science (CATTS)

CATTS is dedicated to advancing math, science and technology on all educational levels. We collaborate with local K-12 schools, community outreach programs as well as University of Arizona outreach projects to make this happen. We strive to make our fellows and future influential scientists more aware and more appreciative of the importance of science/math/technology education. We also strive to strengthen the bond between the university and the local K-12 community.

CAP

College Academy For Parents (CAP)

In its third, year, College Academy for Parents serves parents of elementary students in the Sunnyside Unified School District . This initiative is designed to help parents understand current and future academic expectations, improve communication with schools, and increase their involvement in order to prepare students for a college education. The program, offered in Spanish and English, consists of 12 two-hour workshops in Spanish and English and two campus visits.

Community Partnership of Southern Arizona (CPSA)

The Community Partnership of Southern Arizona (CPSA) is the administrative organization responsible for the coordination of behavioral health treatment and prevention services in Southern and Southeastern Arizona . ICYF provides technical assistance and performs the system-wide evaluation for CPSA Prevention Providers.

Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP)

Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) projects are sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) Office of Teacher and Student Development Programs Service. The national program is dedicated to providing educational support for students in schools that have traditionally not sent large numbers of students on to post-secondary education.

Make Mealtime Family Time (MMFT) Project

Make Mealtime Family Time is a school-based social marketing campaign that encourages family mealtime. The goals of the campaign are to increase the frequency of families eating together and increase positive parent and child interaction; improve parent and child relationship, and ultimately to help defer the onset of risky behaviors (i.e. alcohol, tobacco and other drug use) for youth.

Youth Empowered for Success (YES)

Youth Empowered for Success (YES) is a youth leadership program in Southeast Arizona that mobilizes the power of high-school youth to create caring communities in their schools. This results in increased attachment and committment to school, academic achievement and other positive behaviors among youth.
